Job summary

Shenandoah Hospitality is seeking a Kitchen Repair Technician in Stanley, VA. The role focuses on inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing large-scale kitchen equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

You will perform preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and maintain documentation of all activities. The position is full-time, year-round, reporting to Maintenance/Facilities Management.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing and maintaining commercial kitchen equipment.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform repairs safely.
• Familiarity with preventative maintenance procedures and basic diagnostic tools.
• Ability to read equipment manuals, technical instructions, and service documentation.
• Technical training, certifications, or trade experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management.
• Ability to work in confined or elevated spaces and lift/move tools and parts.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial kitchen equipment (ovens, fryers, grills, refrigeration, dishwashers, etc.).
• Perform routine preventative maintenance to minimize breakdowns.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational problems and determine repair solutions.
• Coordinate with kitchen management to schedule repairs and minimize service disruptions.
• Maintain records of repairs, inspections, and parts used.
• Ensure work areas are clean and safe, follow safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Collaborate with outside vendors for specialized services when needed.
• Prioritize repairs based on safety and operational needs.
