Job summary

Shenandoah Hospitality is seeking a Kitchen Repair Technician to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair commercial kitchen equipment to keep operations safe and efficient. You will perform preventative maintenance on ovens, fryers, grills, refrigerators, dishwashers, and related appliances, and maintain accurate records of repairs and inspections.

Position is full-time, year-round in Shenandoah National Park with an anticipated start of 1/4/2027.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science or related field
• 3+ years in repair/maintenance
• Resort/National Park experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, fryers, grills, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, mixers, and other food service appliances.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance to minimize equipment breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational problems and determine appropriate repair solutions.
• Respond promptly to equipment repair requests and prioritize repairs based on operational needs and safety concerns.
• Inspect equipment for proper operation and identify potential hazards or maintenance issues.
• Repair or replace defective components, parts, and equipment as necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, maintenance activities, and parts used.
• Coordinate with kitchen management to schedule repairs and minimize disruptions to food service operations.
• Ensure work areas are kept clean, organized, and free of tools or materials that could create hazards.
• Follow manufacturer guidelines, workplace safety procedures, and applicable health, fire, and sanitation requirements.
• Identify equipment requiring specialized service and coordinate with outside vendors or licensed contractors when necessary.
• Monitor repair parts and supplies and notify management when replacements are needed.
• Other duties as requested.
