Job summary

JSAS HealthCare in Neptune, NJ is seeking a compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our MOUD program. The counselor will provide assessment, treatment planning, individual and group counseling, case management, and recovery support services to individuals receiving medication treatment for opioid use disorder.

The ideal candidate is committed to evidence-based care, harm reduction principles, and supporting clients in achieving their recovery goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field is required.
• Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders.
• Knowledge of opioid use disorder treatment and recovery principles.
• Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive substance use assessments and psychosocial evaluations.
• Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans.
• Provide individual, group, and family counseling services.
• Collaborate with medical providers, nurses, case managers, and other treatment team members.
• Educate clients and families about opioid use disorder, recovery, relapse prevention, and MOUD.
