Job summary

The Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in Juneau, Alaska is seeking a Motor Vehicle Customer Service Representative (MVCSR1) to join a public service team. You will examine documents for information and validity, explain policies, and issue credentials or vehicle information while engaging with the public.

Responsibilities include administering road examinations for various license types and rotating between lobby processing and exam duties in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Six months of employment experience that included cash handling and working directly with clients or customers.
• Six months of office clerical employment experience providing information to clients, customers, or the general public on services, procedures, and requirements, which included entering or retrieving data using computer systems.
• Substitution: Postsecondary education from an accredited college may substitute for the required experience.
• Special Note: A background check of criminal justice information will be conducted upon initial employment.

Responsibilities

• Examine documentation presented for required information and validity to issue proper credentials or vehicle information.
• Interact directly with the public, explaining policies, statutes, and regulations as needed.
• Administer road examinations for non-commercial, commercial, and motorcycle licenses.
• Work station located in public service lobby with rotating duties between processing customers and administering road exams.
