Job summary

Beckhoff Automation is seeking a Technical Support Specialist - Motion in Savage, MN. You’ll provide high-level support for AX/AM drives, TwinCAT motion, and CNC/kinematics, including on-site visits and demos. Travel 15–20% as needed to support regional projects.

You will mentor colleagues, lead complex problem-solving, and liaise with Beckhoff HQ to escalate issues while expanding product mastery and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Technically fluent engineer with at least 5 years’ experience in motion control systems.
• Strong understanding of servo drive technologies, kinematics, and multi-axis configurations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level technical support and leadership for hardware and software (AX/AM drives, TwinCAT Motion).
• Liaise with Beckhoff German HQ for escalated issues related to AX/AM/AL products and TwinCAT Motion.
• Deliver technical support via phone and on-site visits; clearly communicate product functionality and quality issues.
• Act as national project resource: create customer code, configuration examples, and demos.
• Diagnose and resolve motion control issues using troubleshooting tools and techniques.
• Deliver end-user training, create knowledge base articles, and maintain wiki content.
• Prioritize requests and manage workload; escalate when needed.
• Document all support activities using ticket-tracking tools; mentor teammates.
