Job summary

Nidec Drives in Minnesota is seeking a Senior Technical Sales Engineer to provide technical sales and application support for motor drive products across regions. You will demonstrate products, size drives and motors for customer applications, prepare training materials, and assist field staff in solution design.

Travel 25–50% to OEMs, distributors and user accounts, supporting deployments and technical issues. Strong PLC and IEC61131 experience is preferred; bachelor's degree required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
5+ years in engineering/selling automation solutions.
Experience with drives and motion control, including PLCs.
Proficient in motion control programming with servo and vector drives.
Familiar with IEC61131 and industrial protocols: EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet.

Responsibilities

Provide technical sales and application support to promote products.
Lead demonstrations of Nidec Control Techniques products to customers.
Size drives, motors and peripherals for applications and prepare training materials.
Assist field sales with product selection and mentor team members.
Develop software programs for complex machinery and support engineering.
