Job summary

Dart Bank is seeking an Underwriting Team Lead to mentor the underwriting staff, perform second level reviews, and ensure loan quality while prioritizing customer experience. This role blends leadership with hands-on risk evaluation of mortgage applications and requires the ability to adapt to changing guidelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of recent mortgage underwriting and/or leadership experience.
• Proficient with AUS and appraisal reviews, plus a strong understanding of agency guidelines.
• Experience in wholesale market and encompass is mandatory.
• Previous operations leadership is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership support to underwriting team including second level reviews as required by loan program/decision, mentoring, training, escalation reviews and internal audits on underwriting quality plus coaching as needed.
• Ability to design and deliver training (products/processes/policies/procedures etc.) as needed.
• Assist with pipeline management and workflow for underwriting team members.
• Assist with Timecard and vacation management.
• Underwrite mortgage loan transactions as required based on volume and leadership responsibilities.
• Run various AUS programs, review findings and clear conditions.
