Job summary

The Dart Bank in Lansing, MI is seeking a seasoned Mortgage Loan Underwriter to assess loan risk and ensure salability. You will review financials, tax returns, credit, and collateral while applying agency and investor guidelines.

Collaboration with internal teams and external partners is essential to deliver high-quality mortgage decisions. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of underwriting experience, strong knowledge of AUS, appraisal reviews, and Encompass proficiency, with a customer-first

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of mortgage underwriting experience with AUS knowledge.
• Encompass experience and agency guidelines expertise.
• Wholesale market experience is preferred; FHA/VA credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite mortgage loan transactions per approved authority.
• Run AUS programs, review findings and clear conditions.
• Apply underwriting fundamentals to comply with regulations.
• Review financial statements, tax returns, and assets.
• Assess credit worthiness, collateral, and supporting documents.
• Issue loan decisions consistent with guidelines and salability.
• Ensure conditions are met and assist with audits and QC requests.
• Prioritize workflow to meet deadlines and SLAs.
