Job description

The Position

An innovative financial services company operating at the intersection of consumer finance, mortgage lending, and real estate is seeking an experienced attorney for immediate interim support.

The attorney will primarily support the company’s mortgage servicing team on title-related matters, including title claims, title insurance issues, liens, foreclosures, ownership and vesting changes, trust transfers, and other issues that could affect the company’s interest in a property. This person will advise the servicing team, participate in weekly servicing meetings, and may work directly with title companies to resolve issues. Depending on bandwidth, the attorney may also help develop FAQs, SOPs, playbooks, and other guidance for recurring servicing questions.

Direct mortgage industry experience is required, with hands-on experience navigating title-related and mortgage servicing matters. The ideal candidate will be sufficiently senior to step in quickly and independently provide practical legal guidance.

This project starts ASAP, requires 20-40 hours per week, and is remote. The estimated duration is 2-3 months to start, or until an FTE is identified. The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $115 and $130. This range is an estimate; an employee's compensation will be based on the employee's qualifications, skillset, and relevant experience, specific client needs, project requirements, and other considerations permitted by law.
