Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a supervisor for day-to-day Mortgage Loan Originator activities. You will ensure timely processing and closing documents, drive loan volume, and build relationships with brokers and builders to sustain a steady pipeline. Interviewing and developing staff are also key responsibilities.

The role requires NMLS registration, compliance with SAFE Act and applicable laws, and collaboration across mortgage teams to promote customer relationships and growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two or more years of mortgage sales experience.
• Demonstrated new business development and relationship management skills.
• Good knowledge of sales and sales strategies.
• Thorough knowledge of mortgage products/services, operations, and current market trends.
• Basic knowledge of pricing and underwriting requirements of various mortgage insurance companies.
• Familiar with underwriting requirements for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local programs.
• Familiar with local, state and national laws (e.g. RESPA, Truth-in-Lending).
• Well-developed customer service/relations skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze financial information.
• Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to meet the applicable requirement of performing duties outside of regular place of business.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day activities of a small Mortgage Loan Originator team.
• Ensure documents for processing, underwriting and closing are secured on time.
• Meet annual loan origination volume goals established by management.
• Establish referral relationships with real estate brokers, builders and other sources.
• Collaborate with U.S. Bank Home Mortgage and other lines to grow customer relationships and product sales.
• Interview and recruit new talent; retain employees through development and engagement.
