Job summary

Autyn, an AI-native mortgage processing company in Austin, TX, is seeking a Loan Operations Lead to own the processing pipeline from application to closing. You will manage residential files end to end, review documents, calculate income, and coordinate third-party orders to drive faster closings.

You will also own borrower and originator relationships, set guideline policy, translate findings into product requirements with engineering, and build the operating model with SOPs and service levels

Qualifications

• 3+ years in mortgage loan processing, loan officer assistance, underwriting support, or operations.
• Strong knowledge of residential mortgage documentation and agency guidelines.
• Detail oriented and organized, able to prioritize, problem solve, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Resourceful in identifying and owning issues and producing effective results.
• Good judgment, and the ability to handle confidential borrower information with discretion and in accordance with privacy requirements.
• Comfort with technology: able to learn new systems quickly, and experienced using AI tools in daily work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with a practice of responding promptly and closing loops.
• Austin, TX area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run the pipeline. Manage residential files end to end: documentation review, income calculations, underwriting submission, third-party orders, and conditions through clear-to-close.
• Own both sides of the relationship. Be the person borrowers and referring loan officers trust to answer within the hour and to flag risk before it becomes a delay.
• Set guideline policy. Research FNMA, FHA, VA, and investor overlays, take a defensible position on the ambiguous questions, and build the precedent library the whole pipeline runs on.
• Shape what gets built. Validate income calculations, document extraction, and condition logic against source documents, then turn what you find into product requirements with engineering.
• Make manual work obsolete. Spot the task you've done by hand three times and get it automated.
• Build the operating model. SOPs, service levels, turn-time targets, capacity models, queue design, and the training program the processing team ramps on.
