FIRST FEDERAL BANK in Dunn, NC is seeking a Mortgage Loan Processor I to manage residential mortgage files from application through closing. The role acts as the primary liaison between loan officers, borrowers, and underwriters to clear conditions and ensure timely closings.

We value attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to meet tight deadlines. A 1–3 year background in mortgage loan processing with knowledge of FHA, VA, and Conventional guidelines is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of mortgage loan processing experience preferred.
• Proficiency in loan processing software (Preferred: Encompass) and MS Office.
• Strong understanding of mortgage guidelines (FHA, VA, Conventional) and RESPA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare initial disclosure packages and disclose to meet federal guidelines.
• Documentation collection & verification: review loan applications for accuracy and verify borrower employment, income, assets, and credit reports.
• Loan file management: organize and submit completed loan packages to underwriting.
• Liaison duties: communicate with borrowers, underwriters, attorneys, and title companies to move the file forward.
• Conditions clearance: gather necessary documentation to satisfy underwriter conditions.
• Compliance & regulatory adherence: ensure all files adhere to bank, investor, and government guidelines (FHA/VA/Conventional).
• Closing coordination: prepare all necessary documentation for closings to meet federal guidelines and coordinate closings.
• Handle, process, and secure sensitive information and communications.
