Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional job-related education and professional development preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of mortgage loan origination experience with demonstrated ability to maintain an active loan pipeline.
• Strong sales, business development, and relationship-management skills.
• Working knowledge of mortgage lending practices, underwriting guidelines, and loan qualification principles.
• Proficiency with mortgage loan origination systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
• Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Originate residential real estate loans in accordance with lending policies and regulatory requirements.
• Develop new business through referrals, bank-generated leads, Realtors, builders, attorneys, and other relationships.
• Interview applicants, gather documentation, and evaluate financial information to identify mortgage solutions.
• Educate customers regarding available loan products, program requirements, and the mortgage application process.
• Manage a pipeline of mortgage applications with timely follow-up and customer service throughout the lending process.
• Partner with processing and operations staff to facilitate loan processing and resolve conditions.
• Maintain market awareness, including economic trends, housing activity, and competitive factors.
• Foster relationships with internal partners and external sources while promoting the bank’s image.
• Comply with banking regulations, including BSA and information security standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
