Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to promote business development, originate loans, and manage customer relationships. The role involves guiding applicants through financing options and maintaining detailed records to support efficient loan processing.

Key duties include interviewing applicants, presenting loan products in builder communities, coordinating with Operations, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Travel overnight and some weekend coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• One to two years of related experience and/or training.
• Must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
• Possess general mortgage banking understanding (lock procedures, program analysis, underwriting guidelines, regulatory timelines).
• Proficiency with MS Office and email.

Responsibilities

• Interview mortgage applicants to understand and educate them on financing options.
• Be accessible to buyers and involved in a loan to provide updates.
• Maintain reports and notes within origination software and CRM systems.
• Review new leads daily and contact them to earn their business.
• Manage daily loan pipeline from application to funding to ensure smooth processes.
• Present loan products in sales meetings and builder communities.
• Facilitate an efficient loan process by coordinating with Operations.
