Role Description

The Mortgage Loan Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Royal Oak, MI. Day-to-day responsibilities include originating residential mortgage loans, meeting with prospective borrowers, assessing their financial profiles, and recommending suitable loan products. The role involves guiding clients through the application process, collecting and reviewing documentation, coordinating with underwriting and processing teams, and ensuring timely, accurate loan submissions. The Mortgage Loan Officer will maintain regular communication with clients, real estate partners, and internal staff to provide updates, resolve questions, and support a positive closing experience. This position also includes building and managing a pipeline of leads, following up on referrals, and staying current on mortgage industry trends, guidelines, and regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience or strong interest in roles such as loan officers and related positions, with the ability to manage a pipeline of mortgage clients.
• Knowledge of the mortgage industry and mortgage lending practices, including familiarity with common loan products and regulatory considerations.
• Understanding of underwriting principles and documentation requirements to help prepare complete and accurate loan files.
• Demonstrated customer service skills, including clear communication, active listening, and a client-focused approach.
• Ability to work on-site in Troy, MI, collaborate with team members, and build relationships with real estate and referral partners.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple files and deadlines.
• Comfort with mortgage-related software, CRM tools, and basic office applications; willingness to learn company systems.
• Licensed Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) or willingness to obtain licensure where required; prior sales or financial services experience is a plus.
