Job summary

Bay Area Mortgage Corporation in New Bern, North Carolina is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant to support the loan team with administrative coordination of files from application to closing. This in-person role emphasizes organization, attention to detail, and proactive communication to keep loans moving smoothly.

You will handle initial file setup, data entry, deadline tracking, and coordination with borrowers, officers, and lenders, contributing to a friendly, efficient processing flow

Qualifications

• Must be highly motivated with excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Preferred degree in banking or finance; high school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years in professional office environment or mortgage experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial setup and preparation of new mortgage files; collect, organize, and enter loan information.
• Ensure files are complete and prepared for the next stage; coordinate admin tasks and follow-ups.
• Monitor multiple loans and deadlines; track outstanding information, documents, and signatures.
• Communicate regularly with Loan Officers, borrowers, lenders, and other parties to obtain or clarify information.
• Identify missing information or issues and escalate to the appropriate team member.
