Job summary

First Service Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Assistant to support a high-performing mortgage team across Arkansas. The role is fully remote within the state, with preference for candidates near a branch to stay connected with the community.

You will work directly with borrowers throughout the mortgage process, gather documentation, answer questions, and help keep loans moving smoothly from application through closing. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of mortgage, banking, or financial services experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Support Loan Officers with new loan applications and file setup.
• Collect and review borrower documentation (income, assets, credit, etc.).
• Communicate with borrowers to request missing information.
• Enter and update data in the Loan Origination System (LOS).
• Monitor loan files to ensure completeness before processing.
• Coordinate with processors, underwriters, title companies, and appraisers.
• Track deadlines and maintain accurate documentation.
• Provide exceptional service from application through closing.

MORTGAGE LOAN ASSISTANT

This role can be based anywhere in the state, with a preference for candidates who live within 30 miles of a First Service Bank branch. We’re looking for a Mortgage Loan Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves staying organized, and enjoys helping customers through one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives.

This is a customer-facing role, so you’ll work directly with borrowers throughout the mortgage process—answering questions, gathering documentation, providing updates, and helping create a smooth, positive experience from application through closing. You’ll also work closely with our mortgage lenders to keep loans moving forward accurately and efficiently.

If you’re detail-oriented, customer-focused, comfortable building relationships, and ready to support a high-performing mortgage team, this role is for you.

What You Will Do:

• 1+ year of experience in mortgage, banking, or financial services preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity

Preferred but Not Required:

• Knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA, and RD loans
