Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to originated loans in an assigned non-bank territory, conducting applications, preliminary underwriting, and processing submissions.

The role requires an active NMLS registration, a high school diploma or equivalent, and 2+ years in Mortgage/Sales/Real Estate, with extensive travel and a strong sales drive. Candidates should possess excellent communication, a robust referral base, and knowledge of underwriting requirements for major insurers.

Qualifications

• NMLS registration under the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z
• High school degree or equivalent
• Two or more years of Mortgage, Sales, or Real Estate experience
• Excellent communication skills and ability to analyze financial information
• Familiar with pricing and underwriting requirements of various mortgage insurers

Responsibilities

• Originate mortgage loans in the assigned Non-Bank territory and solicit loan sales
• Take applications, conduct preliminary underwriting reviews, and submit to processing and underwriting for approval
• Ensure documents for processing, underwriting, and closing are secured in a timely manner
• Spend at least 50% of time conducting activities away from U.S. Bank locations
• Maintain an established referral base within the assigned market
