Job summary

Citi in Boca Raton, FL seeks a Mortgage Lending Officer to originate high-quality residential real estate loans. You will engage with clients, real estate professionals and referral partners to grow mortgage sales and client relationships.

The role requires 2–5 years of mortgage sales experience, knowledge of FHA/VA and conventional loans, and the ability to explain pricing and documents clearly while upholding regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years relevant experience.
• 3+ years previous mortgage sales experience required.
• Residential Mortgage experience required.
• Established book of business.
• Proven product sales capability is required.
• FHA/VA & conventional loan experience is preferred
• The ability to comprehend and explain financial calculations and pricing alternatives.
• The ability to communicate with customers about the proper documents and information needed to obtain a particular loan.
• Knowledge of the laws and regulations that govern consumer lending, including fair lending, privacy, and RESPA.
• Demonstrated customer service skills
• Strong relationship development and management skills
• Expertise of general lending products and overall mortgage industry.
• This position requires the employee to register as a mortgage loan originator with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry ("Registry") and obtain a unique identifier from the Registry before engaging in mortgage loan originator activities,

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers about their financial situation and lending needs.
• Collect and analyze information about the customer's financial situation, goals, and credit history.
• Analyze financial information for customers to assess loan qualification.
• Make recommendations on lending solutions that meet objectives.
• Advise customers on risks and benefits of alternatives.
• Promote Citi's lending services to real estate agents and clients.
• Visit customers outside Citi's offices as needed.
• Collaborate with internal partners to support customers.
• Refer customers to other Citi professionals.
• Coordinate with Operations, Processors and Underwriters for loan processing.
• Work with Processors/Closers to ensure timely closings.
• Develop referral relationships with Realtors, CPAs, Builders.
• Introduce clients to segment partners when appropriate.
• Keep abreast of market trends and regulatory changes.
• Assess risk and ensure compliance and ethics.
