Job summary

Citi's Community Mortgage Lending Officer in San Jose, CA is an entry level role focused on driving mortgage sales and building client relationships with community clients, diverse real estate agents and affordable housing partners in coordination with Consumer Product Sales.

You will consult with customers, analyze finances, recommend lending solutions, and collaborate with Operations to close loans while promoting Citi's lending services and maintaining compliance.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years relevant experience.
• Residential Mortgage experience required.
• 3+ years previous mortgage sales experience required.
• Established relationships with diverse realtor organizations and affordable lending nonprofits.
• FHA/VA & conventional loan experience is preferred.
• Must register as a mortgage loan originator with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry.
• Originate minimum of 3 loans per month with a minimum mix of 50% CRA eligible or within minority tracts.

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers about their financial situation and lending needs for home ownership goals.
• Collect and analyze information about finances, goals, risk tolerance, income, assets, debts, and credit history.
• Analyze financial information to assess qualification for lending solutions.
• Make recommendations to customers about lending solutions to meet objectives.
• Advise customers about consequences, risks, and benefits of lending options.
• Promote Citi's lending services to real estate agents, builders, and referral sources.
• Visit customers outside of Citi's offices based on clientele and market conditions.
• Refer customers to other Citi professionals for additional financial services.
• Coordinate with Operations to ensure smooth loan processing and closing.
