Job summary

Ameris Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to generate and close mortgage loans through direct client outreach and referral networks. You will build relationships with realtors, builders and branches to proactively solicit business and maintain a steady pipeline.

You will counsel borrowers on suitable products, guide them through the application process and ensure timely disclosures and documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience using mortgage origination applications.
• Effective utilization of a contact management system.
• Knowledge of mortgage products/servicing, operations, and market trends.
• Proven mortgage production of $5 million over the past year.
• Proven success in establishing referral relationships.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an active NMLS number in compliance with SAFÉ Act requirements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with realtors, builders, branches, and referrals.
• Contact potential or existing customers to originate and grow new business.
• Counsel customers on eligible products to fit financial needs without steering.
• Assist with loan applications and required disclosures within timelines.
• Oversee loan process and monitor status for term conformity.
• Coordinate with processors and field teams on workflow and documents.
• Attend purchase loan closings and support cross-selling initiatives.
