Job summary

Ameris Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to originate and close mortgage loans. You will engage with clients, real estate professionals, and referral sources to proactively solicit business and generate leads for mortgage financing needs.

Responsibilities include handling the loan process from initial application through closing, advising clients on suitable products, and ensuring timely documentation and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Mortgage experience.
• Minimum 1 year of Customer Service experience.
• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience using mortgage origination applications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain NMLS licensing in compliance with SAFE Act requirements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with realtors, builders, developers, and referral sources.
• Contact potential or existing customers to grow business and retain clients.
• Assist customers with loan applications and required disclosures within timelines; monitor loan status.
