Job summary

Hancock Whitney in New Orleans seeks an experienced Mortgage Loan Originator to originate portfolio loans including conventional, FHA, VA and RD loans and to promote bank products to clients in the community.

You will advise borrowers, manage a full loan pipeline, stay current with investor guidelines and banking laws, and coordinate closings with processors, underwriters and real estate professionals. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred and NMLS registration is required after start.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• 2 years of sales experience required
• 2+ years of Mortgage origination experience preferred
• NMLS registration required after start date
• Knowledge of mortgage laws and regulations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
• Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to work with all levels of personnel
• Strong presentation skills

Responsibilities

• Provide expert mortgage advice to borrowers
• Maintain current underwriting policies and investor guidelines
• Develop referral networks with Realtors and community contacts
• Manage a clean loan pipeline, coordinating with processors and underwriters
• Deliver compliance documents and disclosures timely
• Coordinate loan closings with borrowers, agents and title companies
• Explain closing costs and requirements to applicants
• Keep all parties informed on status and changes
