Job summary

University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a Quick Service Team Member: Cook (6:00am-2:30pm, M-F) within Abel Dining Center. You will provide excellent customer service and perform back-of-house kitchen duties, including prep, cooking, inventory and station setup.

Qualifications

• High School education plus one year of experience in a work environment required; equivalency considered
• Ability to read, write, weigh and measure necessary
• Ability to communicate essential
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and push/pull up to 100lbs required
• Food Handler’s permit or ability to obtain by passing the Safety and Sanitation test

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service
• Perform all back of the house kitchen duties, including ingredient and food preparation, inventory, cooking and assembling orders, setting up and closing down stations, recipe preparation, dish machine operations and cleaning
• Build orders based on established processes, procedures, guidelines and recipes
• Monitor food quality, food presentation and control food waste
• Assist within other areas as needed and other duties assigned
