A local restaurant group in Groton is seeking a skilled Prep Cook to join their team. The role involves preparing ingredients, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring food safety.   • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Description

The Position:

Gibbet Hill is seeking a skilled and experienced Prep Cook to join our restaurant team. As a Prep Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking ingredients, as well as assisting with food production and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. The Prep position is daytime hours, primarily 8am–4pm, with shifts available weekdays and weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients for dishes, including cutting, chopping, and measuring ingredients
  • Follow recipes and directions provided by the head chef to ensure that all dishes are prepared consistently and to high quality standards
  • Work with other kitchen staff members to ensure that all elements of the meal, including sides and sauces, are prepared in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all food is prepared and presented in accordance with food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, including proper storage and labeling of all food items
  • Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of all kitchen equipment, including knives, cutting boards, and food processors
  • Ensure that all food waste is minimized and disposed of properly
