Job summary

Root Center for Advanced Recovery in New London, CT is seeking a Part-Time Patient Service Representative to provide exceptional patient service and support administrative tasks. The role greets patients, checks them in, and directs them to staff while maintaining a courteous environment.

Familiarity with EMR and MS Office is preferred. The position offers a 35-hour work week, competitive compensation, and benefits including health coverage, retirement plan with employer contribution, and PTO.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Two-year business degree with one-year secretarial experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Answering telephone politely and transferring calls to the appropriate staff.
• Check-in desk duties: verify patient information and direct to staff; manage lab slips and U/A procedures.
• Billing duties: collect fees, process payments, assist with insurance authorizations and records.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly client fee and status reports as requested by supervisor.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and organize the lobby area for a welcoming patient experience.
