Job summary

Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, PA is seeking an Assistant Cook to support meal preparation and service. You will assist with food production, follow recipes, and ensure food safety standards while keeping the kitchen clean and efficient.

This full-time role offers benefits and a schedule Monday to Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with opportunities to advance food service skills and work as part of a dedicated dining services team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math; communicate effectively and execute tasks accurately by following verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to conform to prevailing conditions (e.g.: staffing), which may vary from day to day.
• Familiarity with proper care of food service equipment, HACCP procedures, and safety/sanitation procedures.
• Ability to coordinate workload.
• Ability to convert recipes and maintain high quality products during batch cooking and made to order stations.
• Must possess ServSafe or Food Handlers Certificate or willingness and ability to acquire within 6 months of employment.
• Familiarity of allergens and preparing allergen friendly menu items.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation and service.
• Follow recipes and maintain food safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized kitchen and efficient operation.
• Support the dining service team to meet high service standards.
• Follow the schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
