Job summary

Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA is seeking a hands-on Cook for Dining Services - Kitchen. You will work across production stations, follow standardized recipes, ensure quality and safety, and assist the chef with recipe validation.

This full-time role requires day to evening shifts and a focus on efficiency and presentation. Responsibilities include completing production sheets, plating, coordinating with servers, and maintaining clean, safe work areas in accordance with ServSafe, HACCP, OSHA,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 1-3 years of related experience.
• Preferred: Vocational or technical certificate/degree in Culinary Arts.
• Current ServSafe certification or obtain certification within one year.

Responsibilities

• Produces high quality food products by following approved recipes and methods.
• Completes production sheets for all items produced in a timely manner.
• Works at action stations in the dining hall and events, ensuring quick, high-quality service.
• Maintains safety per ServSafe, HACCP, OSHA and college policies.
• Performs pre-meal/advanced preparation and JIT production using various cooking techniques.
• Directs servers on portion size and plating, garnishing, and presentation.
• Cooperates with other staff and performs additional duties as needed.
• This role may be designated as emergency response personnel.
