Job summary

Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) is seeking an Extended Day Care Program Assistant for Willow Hill Elementary in Traverse City, MI. This part-time, school-year position offers about 2.0 hours per day with duties including child care, activity planning, and safety supervision for children aged 3-12.

The role requires a high school diploma, some Early Childhood coursework preferred, and current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (18+ years of age) or equivalent.
• Some Early Childhood or Child Development college coursework highly preferred.
• Current First Aid and infant, child, and adult CPR training or willingness to obtain.
• Willing to complete up to 16 clock hours of professional development training per MiLEAP licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate child care and activities for 3-12 year olds in Extended Day setting.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, staff and community.
• Maintain attendance records and supervise safety in classroom and playground.
• Administer medications and provide First Aid as needed and complete required documentation.
• Support program manager and participate in staff development activities.
