Job summary

Traverse City Area Public Schools is seeking an AM Extended Day Care Program Assistant for Willow Hill Elementary. This part-time, school-year role provides caregiver support, plans activities, and maintains safety for children ages 3–12 before school.

The position reports to the Extended Day Program Manager and requires a high school diploma, prior child experience, and First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain it. Training hours may reach 16 annually.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in an educational or care setting.
• Must have or be willing to obtain First Aid/CPR training (infant/child/adult).
• Must be able to complete up to 16 hours of professional development per year.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate activities and care for children 3–12 in the Extended Day Program.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and staff through communication.
• Plan indoor/outdoor activities; oversee attendance and safety.
• Maintain a clean, safe facility and handle behavior management as needed.
• Assist with medication administration and required documentation.
