AUBERGINE KITCHEN in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Front of House Cashier to join our team. You will welcome guests, guide them through the menu, and input orders into Toast POS with accuracy. This role requires full English fluency, a customer-service mindset, and the ability to stand for extended periods.

Shifts are Mon-Sat 11am-4pm; weekends included; pay is $16 per hour, with employee discount and PTO. Onboarding includes Food Handler training within 14 days; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and

Qualifications

• Full English fluency required.
• Speed and accuracy in a high-volume environment.
• 18+; prior customer-facing restaurant experience preferred, not required.
• Completion of Aubergine's onboarding program; Food Handler Certificate within 14 days of hire.
• Availability 3–5 shifts/week incl. weekends/holidays; closed Sundays.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and guide them through the menu; suggest add-ons.
• Input orders into Toast POS accurately; catch errors before they reach the kitchen.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and professional counter/display areas.
• Own guest recovery when issues arise and ensure satisfaction.
• Communicate with kitchen for accurate orders; support floor during peak periods.
• Assist with closing duties on night shift: cleaning and restocking.

Shift: Monday - Saturday 11am-4pm | Shifts include weekends | Closed Sundays

Job Type: Full-Time & Part-Time

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Full English fluency required — non-negotiable for this role; genuine warmth and hospitality instincts are the other non‑negotiable.

• Speed and accuracy in a high-volume environment; composure with difficult guests; curiosity to know the menu deeply.

• 18+; prior customer-facing restaurant experience preferred, not required.

• Completes Aubergine's onboarding program; Food Handler Certificate within 14 days of hire (company-supported).

• Available 3–5 shifts/week incl. weekends/holidays (closed Sundays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, July 4th).

• Able to stand/walk for extended periods and lift/push/carry up to 50 lbs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Guest Interaction & Order Accuracy

• Greet every guest with genuine warmth, guide them through the menu confidently, and suggest add-ons based on what they're actually ordering.

• Input every order into Toast POS accurately and efficiently; catch errors before they reach the kitchen; answer the phone professionally.

Counter Standards & Guest Recovery

• Keep the counter, display case, and self-service station clean, stocked, and visually professional at all times.

• Own guest recovery when something goes wrong — stay calm, resolve it, elevate when needed, and follow up to confirm satisfaction.

Team Contribution

• Communicate clearly with the kitchen for order accuracy and smooth handoffs; support the floor during peak periods without being asked.

• Night shift cashiers assist with closing duties: cleaning, restocking, and a full front-of-house check.
