Job summary

Pyramid Global Hospitality in Roanoke, Virginia is seeking a Cook for a seasonal, part-time role in its hotel kitchen. The position covers buffet room duties and line cook tasks, with AM shifts from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m.

to 3:00 p.m., and weekend/holiday availability required. Assignment runs through January 9, 2027. Compensation is $16.00 per hour. Prior kitchen experience and the ability to obtain or maintain a food handler certificate are preferred.

Qualifications

• 6 months–2 years of experience in a professional kitchen or pursuing culinary education.
• Ability to obtain active food handler’s certification or similar credential.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays.
• Strong organizational skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and break down breakfast and lunch buffets.
• Operate omelet/egg station, carving stations, and rotating action stations.
• Assist in knife handling and use of kitchen equipment.
• Prepare workstations with ingredients and equipment.
• Prep ingredients, chop vegetables, and cut meats.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of all food items.
• Support culinary team with high-quality preparation and ingredient quality.
• Responsibilities alternate between buffet room management and supporting line cook needs.
