HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital is seeking a Monitor Technician to join our team. You will perform EKG monitoring and interpretation, compile and maintain records, and provide information to visitors and staff while assisting nursing staff in keeping operations efficient.

The role supports a patient-centered care culture with opportunities for growth. Responsibilities include interpreting rhythms, reporting changes to nursing staff, maintaining telemetry supplies, and recording patient

Qualifications

• Completion of Basic EKG/Arrhythmia course; able to interpret rhythms
• Working knowledge of medical terminology
• High School Graduate / GED or equivalent
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification
• Experience as a monitor tech in a hospital setting preferred
• Customer service abilities including effective listening skills
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Interpret Rhythms and Arrhythmias.
• Report all changes in heart rate/rhythm to appropriate nursing staff.
• Maintain Telemetry Supplies.
• Record patient condition utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• Perform duties with full understanding of related age-specific factors.
• Orient and mentor new staff members.
• Follow Standard Precautions using PPE as required.

Qualifications

• BLS Healthcare Provider
• Completion of Basic EKG/Arrhythmia course. Demonstrated ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias
• Working knowledge of medical terminology
• CMT/Cardiac Experience Preferred
• Experience as a monitor tech in a hospital setting preferred
• Customer service abilities including effective listening skills
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• High School Graduate / GED or equivalent required
