Job summary

HCA Florida South Shore Hospital is seeking a Monitor Technician to join our care team. You will perform EKG monitoring, interpret rhythms, report changes, and assist nursing staff to maintain unit efficiency.

You will orient and mentor new staff, maintain telemetry supplies, and document patient conditions using computerized systems, in a patient-centered, team-based environment.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required or to be obtained per policy.
• Completion of Basic EKG/Arrhythmia course and ability to interpret rhythms.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• CMT/Cardiac experience preferred.
• Experience as monitor tech in a hospital setting preferred.
• Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Interpret Rhythms and Arrhythmias.
• Report all changes in heart rate/rhythm to nursing staff.
• Maintain Telemetry Supplies.
• Record patient condition utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• Perform duties with understanding of age specific factors.

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are currently seeking a Monitor Technician to join our team. As our Monitor Tech you will perform a variety of duties including EKG monitoring and interpretation, compiling, transcribing, preparing and maintaining records for your unit. You will also provide information and communication services to visitors and staff and assist nursing staff in maintaining efficient operations on the unit. Qualifications

• BLS Healthcare Provider

• Completion of Basic EKG/Arrhythmia course. Demonstrated ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias

• Working knowledge of medical terminology

• CMT/Cardiac Experience Preferred

• Experience as a monitor tech in a hospital setting preferred

• Customer service abilities including effective listening skills

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
