Job summary

Sovah Health in Martinsville, VA is seeking a Telemetry Monitor Technician to monitor telemetry and respond to significant arrhythmias under RN supervision. You will test equipment, report findings, and support nursing staff to ensure patient safety.

The role is full-time, dayshift, in-person, with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for continuing education within a community hospital setting serving multiple specialties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS (American Heart Association) within 6 months of hire.

Position Summary

Sovah Health is looking for the ideal candidate who will under the supervision of an RN, performs telemetry monitoring.

• Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
• Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
• Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Tests equipment for proper working order. Reports equipment problems to the supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. May require lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds. May require frequent bending, squatting, and kneeling. Requires corrected vision and hearing to the normal range.
• Requires the ability to work under stressful conditions and/or irregular hours. Potential for exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

Certifications

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) or HeartSaver CPR is required within 6 months of hire.
