Responsibilities

1. Provide continuous observation of monitored EKG patterns of patients on telemetry and report significant information to nursing personnel.
2. Set up, calibrate, maintain telemetry equipment, and ensure monitors are functioning properly. Label rhythm strips accurately and respond to changes or emergencies appropriately.
3. Assist with answering phones, maintain work area cleanliness, and ensure proper cleaning of transmitters between patients.
4. Participate in ongoing education and departmental meetings, demonstrating flexibility by floating to other areas as needed.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

• High school Diploma/GED
• One (1) year of experience as a monitor tech, EMT, or paramedic

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Training

• Knowledge of EKG interpretation, demonstrated by passing the Basic Dysrhythmia Rhythm Interpretation Exam and completing relevant courses if applicable.
