HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital is seeking a Monitor Technician to join our team. You will interpret cardiac rhythms, monitor telemetry, and support nursing staff to maintain efficient patient care on the unit.

The role requires BLS, basic EKG/Arrhythmia training, and strong communication skills. Prior monitor tech experience is preferred, with emphasis on safety and patient-centered service.

Qualifications

• Completion of Basic EKG/Arrhythmia course. Demonstrated ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias
• Working knowledge of medical terminology
• BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days of employment
• Monitor tech experience in a hospital setting preferred
• Customer service abilities including effective listening skills
• High school diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

• Interpret Rhythms and Arrhythmias.
• Report all changes in heart rate/rhythm to appropriate nursing staff.
• Maintain Telemetry Supplies.
• Record patient condition utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• Perform duties with understanding of age-specific factors.
• Orient and mentor new staff members.
• Follow Standard Precautions using PPE as required.

Job Summary And Qualifications

We are currently seeking a Monitor Technician to join our team. As our Monitor Tech you will perform a variety of duties including EKG monitoring and interpretation, compiling, transcribing, preparing and maintaining records for your unit. You will also provide information and communication services to visitors and staff and assist nursing staff in maintaining efficient operations on the unit. Qualifications

• CMT/Cardiac Experience Preferred


• Experience as a monitor tech in a hospital setting preferred


• Customer service abilities including effective listening skills


• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required


• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
