Job summary

HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a Monitor Technician to join our patient-focused unit. You will perform EKG monitoring, interpret rhythms, and assist nursing staff to maintain unit efficiency.

You will document patient conditions in electronic systems, mentor new staff, and ensure proper telemetry supplies while upholding safety and standard precautions in a busy acute care setting. This role offers growth and a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
• Completion of Basic EKG/Arrhythmia course; ability to interpret rhythms.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• CMT/Cardiac experience preferred.
• Experience as a monitor tech in a hospital setting preferred.
• Customer service abilities and listening skills.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• High School Graduate or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Interpret rhythms and arrhythmias and report changes to nursing staff.
• Maintain telemetry supplies and documentation of patient condition in systems.
• Record patient status using computerized documentation tools.

Job Summary And Qualifications

We are currently seeking a Monitor Technician to join our team. As our Monitor Tech you will perform a variety of duties including EKG monitoring and interpretation, compiling, transcribing, preparing and maintaining records for your unit. You will also provide information and communication services to visitors and staff and assist nursing staff in maintaining efficient operations on the unit. • You will interpret Rhythms and Arrhythmias.
• You will report all changes in heart rate/rhythm to appropriate nursing staff.
• You will maintain Telemetry Supplies.
• You will record patient condition utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• You will perform duties with full understanding of related age specific factors.
• You will orient and mentor new staff members.
• You will follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Qualifications

• BLS Healthcare Provider
• Completion of Basic EKG/Arrhythmia course. Demonstrated ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias
• Working knowledge of medical terminology
• CMT/Cardiac Experience Preferred
• Experience as a monitor tech in a hospital setting preferred
• Customer service abilities including effective listening skills
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• High School Graduate / GED or equivalent required
