Legend Biotech in Somerset, NJ, is seeking a Scientist, Molecular Assays to join the Bioanalytical Sciences team. You will develop and execute molecular assays for clinical, translational, and preclinical programs, focusing on qPCR, ddPCR, and NGS workflows.

The ideal candidate has an advanced degree with 3+ years (PhD) or 8+ years (MS) in life sciences, hands-on molecular biology experience, and meticulous documentation skills in a regulated lab environment.

Qualifications

• M.S. with 8+ years of relevant experience or Ph.D. with 3+ years.
• Hands-on with nucleic acid extraction, qPCR, RT-qPCR, and/or ddPCR.
• Experience with NGS workflows and library preparation; single-cell sequencing a plus.
• Experience in regulated laboratory environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform molecular biology experiments supporting clinical, translational, and preclinical research.
• Execute qPCR and ddPCR assays for gene expression, biomarker quantification, transgene detection, vector copy number, and biodistribution.
• Support development, optimization, qualification, transfer, and troubleshooting of molecular assays.
• Perform nucleic acid extraction, quantification, and quality assessment from biological samples.
• Prepare samples and library preparation for NGS, including scRNA-seq.
• Operate and maintain qPCR, ddPCR, and NGS-related platforms.
• Analyze data, maintain documentation, and assist in protocols and reports.
• Manage samples using LIMS and ELN; ensure traceability.
• Support lab operations and inventory management; contribute to workflow improvements.
