Job summary

Legend Biotech is seeking a Scientist, Molecular Assays for the Bioanalytical Sciences team based in Somerset, NJ. The role focuses on developing and performing molecular biology assays including qPCR, ddPCR, and NGS workflows to support clinical, translational, and preclinical programs.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with nucleic acid extraction, library preparation, and data analysis, and can work independently in a fast-paced biotechnology environment while ensuring data quality

Qualifications

Minimum 8+ years in life sciences with MS, or 3+ years with PhD.
Hands-on nucleic acid extraction, qPCR, RT-qPCR, or ddPCR.
Experience with NGS workflows and library preparation; single-cell sequencing a plus.
Familiarity with assay development, data analysis, and sample processing.
Experience in cell and gene therapy, immunology, oncology, or regulated labs.
Strong attention to detail and documentation.

Responsibilities

Perform molecular biology experiments supporting diverse research programs.
Execute qPCR and ddPCR assays for gene expression, biomarkers, and biodistribution.
Support assay development, transfer, and troubleshooting.
Perform nucleic acid extraction, quantification, and quality assessment.
Prepare samples and library prep for NGS, including single‑cell RNA sequencing.
Operate and maintain qPCR, ddPCR, and NGS platforms.
Analyze data, ensure quality, document protocols and reports.
Track and manage samples using LIMS and ELN.
Support lab operations, inventory, equipment, and organization.
Contribute to continual workflow and assay improvements.
