Job summary

Silgan Closures in Champaign, IL is seeking a Molding Technician (Mold Mechanic) to maintain, repair, and optimize high-speed molding equipment in a food and beverage packaging production facility.

You will set up and troubleshoot machinery, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure components meet quality and safety standards while supporting a culture of safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience as a molding technician or mold mechanic.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, process, and troubleshoot molding machinery and auxiliary equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance per schedule to maximize uptime and product quality.
• Ensure parts meet all quality and safety requirements.
• Monitor and maintain chiller and production system performance.
• Communicate effectively with production, maintenance, and management teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation according to GMP, HACCP, and Food Safety standards.
• Promote a culture of safety, reliability, and teamwork.

• Pay range $29.21 - $32.32 per hour
• Schedule: 2-2-3 with every other weekend off - Friday - Sunday
• Hours: 12-hour 5:45am - 6:00pm
