Silgan Closures in Champaign, IL is seeking a Molding Technician (Mold Mechanic) to maintain, repair, and optimize high-speed molding machinery for food and beverage packaging components. You will set up and troubleshoot equipment, perform preventative maintenance, ensure quality and safety compliance, and collaborate across teams to maximize uptime and product quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of experience as a molding technician, mold mechanic, or related maintenance role.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, process, and troubleshoot molding machinery and auxiliary equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance per schedule to maximize uptime and product quality.
• Ensure parts meet all quality and safety requirements.
• Monitor and maintain chiller and production system performance.
• Communicate effectively with production, maintenance, and management teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation according to GMP, HACCP, and Food Safety standards.
