Colonial Group is seeking a Technician, Tooling to support mold and tooling repair in its Michigan facility. The role focuses on repairing molds, jigs, and fixtures used in plastic injection processes, under general supervision.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of mold/tool repair experience and can read blueprints, measure parts accurately, and work with close tolerances. The job requires physical strength and the ability to operate related equipment safely.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in mold or tool repair, including jigs and fixtures.
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments to build repair parts.

Responsibilities

• Trains personnel in proper use of equipment.
• Read blueprints and use measuring tools and math to repair molds, jigs, fixtures.
• Maintains repair supplies such as pins, die springs, and related materials.
• Modifies molds, jigs, fixtures to correct problems.
• Inspects changes by outside mold vendors to ensure compliance with standards and specs.
• Performs skilled work with close tolerances beyond the tool cleaner level.
• Maintains records of repairs, modifications, and inventory.
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
