Job summary

Colonial Group in Ohio is seeking an experienced Mold Maker to repair, maintain and fabricate components for injection molds, using CNC mills, lathes and hand tools.

You will read blueprints, measure parts with micrometers, and implement design improvements while working with a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This on-site role requires flexibility, on-call availability for production emergencies, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of mold making experience or completion of an approved journeyman program.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of dimensional mathematics.
• Fine bench work requiring accuracy and finesse.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Experience with CNC mills, lathes, EDM and TIG welding.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Repair or replace mold components using hand tools, power tools and CNC equipment.
• Study blueprints and specs to determine parts to replace.
• Measure and mark dimensions with calipers and micrometers.
• Modify designs and fixtures for new specifications.
• Perform preventative mold maintenance and inspections.
• Fabricate fixtures, jigs, and gauges for various departments.
• Work flexible hours, on-call for production emergencies.
• Troubleshoot downtime on injection molding equipment.
• Support senior technicians and train newer staff.
• Ensure safety and quality standards are followed.
