Samtec is seeking aMechanical Engineer Co-Op in Erie, PA to support and maintain new and legacy mold tooling. You will create 3D models and detailed drawings, analyze tooling data, and participate in cross-functional reviews to drive quality and improvements.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering or related roles.
• Self-starter with strong leadership and initiative.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills with internal and external customers.
• Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Knowledge of steel machining, mold design, and injection mold materials.
• Experience with SolidWorks or AutoCAD for design and drawings.

Summary/Objectives: The Mechanical Engineer Co-Op is responsible for supporting and maintaining new and legacy mold tooling.

• 1. Capable of using 3D software to create solid models and detailed drawings, assemblies, mold setup documents
• 2. Analyze product and tooling data to identify required solutions.
• 3. Recommend process and/or tooling changes to improve product quality.
• 4. Leads or participates in product and tooling design reviews.
• 5. Cross functionally engages with quality, engineering, manufacturing and other teams to develop products and solutions.
• 6. Adheres to all corporate engineering standards including but not limited to documentation and file management.
• 7. Autonomously plans and schedules personal tasks, develops solutions to problems utilizing education, experience, and judgment.

Requirements

• 1. 1 - 5 years of experience or in similar roles or jobs.
• 2. Must be a self-starter with strong leadership
