Job summary

Aerotek is hiring a Mold Technician for 2nd or 3rd shift in Elkhart, IN. The role focuses on setup, changeover, and troubleshooting of molds and related equipment to ensure high-quality first runs.

Responsibilities include startup/shutdown of molding equipment, mold handling with forklifts, basic PM, and thorough documentation. Training on 1st shift for about two months will precede transition to 3rd shift.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive, machining, or mechanical environments.
• Ability to read and interpret machine drawings and schematics.
• Strong math skills to support troubleshooting and setup.
• Willingness to train on 1st shift before transitioning to 3rd shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform start-ups and shut downs of molding equipment to achieve high-quality first runs.
• Rig, hoist, and move molds using forklifts and hoists.
• Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble molds.
• Conduct basic preventative maintenance on molds and check for wear.
• Troubleshoot mold-related problems to minimize downtime and scrap.
• Use hand, power, and pneumatic tools for repairs and adjustments.
• Document mold changes and complete change sheets for each setup or changeover.
• Follow lockout/tagout safety procedures.
• Collaborate with team to coordinate mold changes and resolve issues.
• Train on 1st shift for about two months before moving to 3rd shift.
