Job summary

SMC Ltd. in Somerset, WI seeks a Mold Technician III for 3rd shift to set up and troubleshoot injection molding processes, including molds, robots, dryers, and auxiliary gear. You will mentor Level One and Two technicians and ensure process readiness and quality.

Responsibilities include monitoring processes, documenting parameters in IQMS SPC, interfacing with QA and tool room, and maintaining a safe, production-friendly floor. English communication is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Must have completed all SMC Mold Tech Level One Requirements
• Minimum of 1-year experience in Thermoplastic/LSR machine set-up
• Knowledge of IQMS
• Knowledge of material handling system
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
• Some travel may be required

Responsibilities

• Set up, start, and troubleshoot injection molding processes; molds, robots, dryers, mold heat/cool, and runner controllers
• Assure molds are inspected and properly treated after product run; communicate mold problems to tool room via MRO
• Possess working knowledge of process monitoring equipment (RJG and Priamus)
• Troubleshoot production problems, identify root cause and implement solutions
• Record Process Parameters in IQMS SPC format
• Maintain tour-ready production floor
• Mentor Mold Tech Level One and Two
• Other duties as assigned
