Job summary

Summit Polymers in Michigan is seeking an Operator, Assembly to work under the supervision of the Manufacturing Supervisor. The role involves operating molding machines and assembling molded parts, inspecting quality, and following standard work instructions.

Responsibilities include trimming, weighing, labeling parts, recording quality data, and assisting with color or mold changes as needed. A High School Diploma or GED is required, with good attention to safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • Reads, understands, and follows Operator Instruction Sheet to determine part numbers, inspection procedures, packing requirements, and any special instruction.
  • Requires ability to retrieve, separate, inspect, count, weigh, pack, and label parts per written or oral instructions.
  • Must operate molding machines and/or air-activated tools to assemble, decorate, or produce product and report machine issues to supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Reads, understands, and follows Operator Instruction Sheet to determine part number(s), inspection procedures, packing requirements, and any special instruction.
  • Retrieves, separates, inspects, counts, weighs, packs, and labels parts per instructions.
  • Operates molding machines and/or air activated tools and equipment to assemble, decorate, or produce product; informs supervision of malfunctions and quality variances.
  • Compares, inspects, and monitors production quality to approved samples and Accepts or rejects per standards.
  • Performs simple clerical tasks involving recording and summarizing production.
