Job summary

Summit Polymers in Michigan is seeking an Operator, Assembly to join our manufacturing team. Under supervision, you will operate molding machines and assemble molded parts, perform inspections, and support quality checks as part of daily production.

You will handle simple hand tools, follow instruction sheets, and maintain clean work areas per 5S standards, contributing to on-time delivery and quality assurance across shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Willingness to perform repetitive assembly and quality checks.

Responsibilities

• Reads and follows Operator Instruction Sheet to determine part numbers, inspection procedures, packing requirements, and any special instructions.
• Retrieves, inspects, counts, weighs, packs, and labels parts per written/oral instructions.
• Operates molding machines and/or air tools to assemble, decorate, or produce product while informing supervisor of any machine malfunctions or quality variances.
• Monitors production quality against established standards and documents results; performs basic clerical tasks as needed.
• Maintains clean work area and follows 5S requirements; supports color or mold changes and set up for next job.
