Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Specialist to support NSWC Crane programs. The role involves developing, executing, and analyzing models to evaluate unmanned systems performance in complex environments, in collaboration with systems engineers and test personnel.

The position requires ABET-accredited degree, 7+ years in engineering or research, and an active Secret clearance. You will contribute to test planning, data analysis, and documentation, with opportunities to shape

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering or CS or mathematics degree required.
• 7+ years of engineering or scientific research experience.
• Expertise in M&S tools and techniques for defense system performance analysis.
• Experience with live, constructive, or virtual simulation environments for DoD assessment.
• Ability to develop and validate simulation models for T&E planning and analysis.
• Active Secret US Government clearance (US Citizenship required).
• 1+ years integrating digital models to predict system-of-systems performance.
• 1+ years in a secure integrated data environment.
• Familiar with AF SIM, ITASE, Matlab, Python, SysML models.

Responsibilities

• Develop, verify, and validate models and simulations for unmanned system platforms and environments.
• Design and execute simulation studies to assess performance, autonomy, and mission effectiveness.
• Support trade studies and risk assessments with modeling-based analyses.
• Collaborate with engineers and testers to align modeling with T&E planning.
• Prepare technical reports, briefings, and visualizations communicating findings.
• Maintain and enhance simulation tools, frameworks, and databases for repeatability.
• Assist in creating modeling plans, V&V documentation, and accreditation packages.
• Identify data or tool gaps and propose improvements.
• Participate in design reviews and program reviews, presenting results.
